Configuration: 36 packs per box. 12 cards per pack.
1994 Upper Deck is a 540 card set released in two series with S1 containing 280 cards and S2 containing 270. Upper Deck used a new regional distribution method which allowed collectors to pull special Diamond Collection inserts of players located on the east coast, midwest, or west coast that were exclusive to each regional box. It was wildly unpopular as only collectors in the midwest could pull the highly sought after Michael Jordan insert. Every other card in the product except for the Diamond Collection exclusives could be pulled out of all boxes, regardless of region.
The two headliners in this set are the Michael Jordan Star Rookie and the rare Mickey Mantle & Ken Griffey Jr Autographs. The autograph set features 3 copies, each with a print run of 1000 copies that has an autograph of either Mantle, Griffey, or both. The dual signed card is considered to be one of the greatest baseball autograph cards of all time.
